After closure for public safety because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Eudora Welty Garden is now open to the public from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  The Welty House and the Welty Education and Visitor Center are not open at this time, but visitors are welcome to tour the garden at no charge while practicing safe social distancing of six-feet separation. The Welty House and Garden is located at 1119 Pinehurst Street in the Belhaven Historic District of Jackson.

According to the Mississippi State Department of Public Health Guidelines for state agencies, which includes the Welty House and Garden as a museum of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, people in public places, including outdoors in the garden, must also wear face masks.

Blooms of late spring and early summer are currently on full display in the Welty Garden. Here are a remaining gardenia, zinnias, tiger lilies, and roses.
