Photojournalist and digital media producer Kate Medley, Jackson native now of Durham, North, Carolina, previewed her new community art project, the Eudora Welty Portrait Reader, at the Welty House Education and Visitors Center on June 29. The event premiered in Atlanta on July 1.
Several portraits of Eudora and other Welty-inspired art by artists from across the South were on display, and readers were sold with proceeds benefitting the Eudora Welty Foundation. Guests enjoyed music and light refreshments.
