“My Dear Friend, Eudora — Lunch with Roger Mudd” will be held Friday, May 9, at 11:30 a.m. in the Reception Hall of Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church in Jackson. Mudd, beloved national television anchor, author, and a member of the Welty Foundation National Advisory Board, will reminisce about his long-time friendship with Welty. Mudd is shown here with his wife EJ when they visited Welty on the occasion of her 80th birthday.

Tickets for this special occasion are limited. Individual tickets are $60 and are available on line at fondren.org or by contacting the Fondren Renaissance Foundation at 601-981-9606. Corporate tables are $750. The luncheon is co-sponsored by the Fondren Renaissance Foundation and the Eudora Welty Foundation.

A 1989 video interview that aired on the PBS MacNeil/Lehrer News Hour featuring Mudd and Welty will also be shown. Also on display will be several of the Welty photographs recently exhibited at the Cedars.
